Make Mubi iPad-friendly
I just signed up for this site and was so excited, intending to use it to watch movies on my iPad when travelling, on lunch breaks, etc. but the iPad does not play Flash content. I can't use your service unless this changes.

We are looking into HTML5 video as a stop-gap since we do not yet have the resource in place for the full app development. Stay tuned.

Hi Jdessel,
This is a great idea and we are currently working on creating an iPad application. Thank you very much for your input!- view 1 more comment

I agree with the above. I use the ipad to watch movies on its excellent screen . . . and await the app with real interest. It could be a nice earner for you if you can get a deal with Apple.

Hello
We are expecting to launch MUBI on iPad by the end of the year. It's really important for us to bring about the best user experience by creating the MUBI app and that's the only reason why we need more time. Thank you all for your enthusiasm.
All the Best

I love the films featured in MUBI. Only reason I won't subscribe is the iPad issue. It is also very frustrating that there is no target date for an ap. From the forum I can see that the promised ap is coming over the past 12 months!!!!!!! Not very good.

I have got the new ipad and apple tv 3, here i am waiting app support for my apple ecosystem to subscribe.
When will you release us this stuff ? -
-
Please please make subtitles available when you're adapting the site for iPad as well.

It's not that complicated!? If you don't have the resources in-house, have someone like http://www.sourcebits.com/ do it..!.?

Yes come on mubi we need the app for all of us ipad junkies. I'd switch from love film in an instant, the content on mubi is much more interesting in general but I don't want to always have to turn on my old computer to view it. We're in the tennies for crying out loud :)

-
I'm waiting as well. Really want an iPad app with Airplay, then you'll have my subscription... A bonus would be Mubi in my Apple TV :) And a descent minimum would be movies in html5, flash isn't too healthy for my Apple tree.....

Dear Halan,
I would absolutely love to give you and everyone's else here a date, and put a happy smile on your faces, but sadly I have no information that I can give you right now.
We are on it, as always, facing the wind and the storm, and soon we will happily land safely on your Ipads and show you a world of cinematographic wonders.
Until then, stay tuned !
Best regards,
Quentin

Once again I'm beginning to wonder how you define "soon" as you seem to use it a lot about things that turn out to never materialise.

From all i can gather on the forums and everything around here, i do not think iPad app or iPad friendly version is likely to come in about million years :) i am a developer myself for xcode-driven ipad and iphone apps and for flash based websites so i know that "gee i would love to give a deadline but i am truly sorry i can't" sentence. This usually means that either they are still looking for a decent developer to put good content on ipad or their ignorant developers are still stalling them because they do not want to oose their jobs. Or whatever else it may be, the app stil did not take a single step trust me :) however HTML5 is a completely different issue. I myself created some players, sure some of them were quite insecure but i just made them in abou 3-4 days. In years? I guess if they worked on convincing apple to support flash it would probably be done by now :) so people, forget this. I am unsubscribing as well since i was recently out of my trial.

This isn't happening. I'm only responding because even though I canceled my Mubi subscription months ago over this issue, I never unsubscribed to the thread updates. I was excited about using this service but if you use an iPad you're basically S.O.L. I think it's clear they're not interested in developing an app, which really is a shame because there's so much interesting content.
I'm sure other services will fill the spot that Mubi is sadly neglecting. -

Hey guys, I've also felt the need for a MUBI mobile app for some time. I'm a web & mobile designer and I will probably end up making a concept app for myself, as an exercise at least.
How is your project coming along?
If you need some assistance and you want to get in touch and make this a real thing I'd be really glad to help you. -

There must be Someone on this Whole 'techno fuelled' planet who can contact Apple and get this Not So complicated developer issue sorted, of being able watch content on iPads/iPhones. . . offer them some franchise or DO ANYTHING! PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN, we are living in the age of Aquarius now!! always connections/deals to be made if you have the motivation and imagination!!
Come on, make a pledge to all the MANY thousands of frustrated iPad, iPhone users out there who LOVE MUBI and want to support and PROMOTE you to all their friends, including ME, who has joined in an excited frenzy and promoted you to all my FB friends. . . . becos your content is FAB, Hundred times better than many hours of frustrating trawling thru mainstream rubbish on Netflix and lovefilm (and have been with both of them). . .
Then Only to find I CAN'T watch anything on my devices AAAHH! .
COME ON WE NEED YOU! on our iPads/iPhones . . .
You don't realise the global effect this will make!! A cinematic revolution and an ExPlosion of your companies SUCCESS!!!
DO IT MUBI, just put advert out for a whizz kid developer, SORT OUT THE LEGALITIES WITH APPLE, OFFER THEM SOMETHING. . . IT WILL BE A WIN WIN SCENARIO!!!
You will be the new Netflix, Lovefilm like you Never could Imagine With the right PR. . . We Are ALL waiting . . It's 2013 and You are Ready to roll this!!-
