Hi,
I am the co-director of BLONDES IN THE JUNGLE. At its festival premiere at the 2009 Chicago Underground Film Festival, our art-film/comedy won the "Best Narrative Feature" jury prize. The film made its international premiere January 2010 at the 39th International Film Festival Rotterdam, and has been selected by many festivals and film programs in the US and abroad.
MUBI has been highly recommended to me as a platform for delivering my film on-demand. Can you please detail the process of submitting to MUBI. Is exclusivity required?
Thank you,
Lev

How does a Producer/Director submit a completed film project to MUBI for consideration to be shown. The film is a documentary that details 100 men who travel to Juarez and for 96 hours build 10 homes for 10 families who are living in extreme poverty. I would be happy to send a copy for review.

Judyta, maybe MUBI position is, "don't call us we'll call you". Hopefully Max will respond with some details concerning submitting a film.

Claudio/Max, have you submitted a film to MUBI, C/o Celluloid Dreams. Do you just send a DVD or is there any other information that would help in being selected by MUBI. Do you also know anything concerning MUBI reliability to pay in a timely manner any proceeds to a films producers.

My answer to your questions:
MUBI is a new film channel, but also a social network, very well done. The procedures to submit a film are the same of any serious film distribution company. Send a screening DVD plus the production notes. Because they have hundred of submissions it takes 3/4 weeks to get the response. They give response, just give the time. To call is not helpful, I don't think any big network can responde by phone to so many submitters. I suggest to send the DVD and write an e.mail after few weeks for a feedback. I don't see any reasons to doubt about money payment. I think, but that is only my opinion, the VOD incomes are net yet so big, in future time VOD could be the biggest incomes for producers and distributor. That is what I can say.
My first submission did not go well, I asked to consider it again, we'll see. Anyway even if they won't accept my film, I consider MUBI a great network. I just hope will remain an opportunity for independent film productions. When networks become bigger, they become more selective.
Best
Max Amato-
Thanks Max, It was what I was hoping you would respond with. I will submit per your information. Hope Judyta see your response. Thanks again.

Hi Pawel,
I have to say sorry for the misunderstanding myself.
There was a delay between the message in which my post got deleted and the one that had the directions to the relevant links, that's why I wrote that response.
Thank you very much for the links :)
Kind Regards,

Hi everyone,
there is a big difference between playing your film on MUBI and having your film with its own page in the MUBI filmdatabank.
To share your film among other creative independent filmmakers you can use Garage (http://mubi.com/garage). Thats a great place to share films and get feedback from filmmakers and filmlovers.
Or you can try to get your film officially shown on Mubi by contacting Mathieu Boucher (see Contactdetails above)
Because showing a film on Mubi includes a big amount of legal issues and lot of work, I think the chances for a self produced and distributed Film aren't that great. Maybe its best to find a distributor first and try it with a bunch of films.
To have your film in the Databank may take a while but is pretty easy. Just fill out this document
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewf...
and wait a while.
As MUBI takes great responsibility of its databank and does create every filmpage with great care it might take a couple of weeks till your suggested Film shows up.
I hope I could help,
Max -
