Get Mubi on iPad!
I have been able to access Mubi content on my iPad. Get the Skyfire browser app from iTunes store. The browser will search for flash content on any web page. On the bottom left hand of the page there will be a video button that analyses the content. It will recognise the video and give you an option to play it. I've only used the browser via home wifi so can't say if the app works on all networks.

thanks for letting us know and thank you for your great effort to watch MUBI on your ipad, we take that as a compliment.
We hope it will be much easier for you soon as we are working on and ipad App as well as changing our player from flash to html5 as well as a multiple bitrate so you will definitely be able to watch films on the go!
Stick around with us a bit more, it will be worth waiting :)
Best regards,

Kevin Sarr January 18, 2013 20:58Are we sure that this clown who calls himself Maximilian is an actual employee of MUBI? If he is, then MUBI are taking the piss by not providing an iPad app and ignoring customer comments. I just joined Mubi today but doubt if I go beyond the free trial. Bunch of idiots!EditDeleteRemove

It would be even better to have Mubi available as an Apple TV channel. It shouldn't be too difficult because the Apple TV internals are much the same as the iPad. Hulu and Netflix can already run on the Apple TV.

How many years shall I plan to check back if iPad support is finally there?
MUBI staff, you're wasting the users' patience and a lot of potential turnover, keeping people waiting for years now!- view 2 more comments

Fair enough. I was taking Maximilian's comment at face value.
If the app does appear I hope that it has Airplay capability; then I won't need a separate app for my Apple TV. This, of course, would only be an advantage to people with both devices. -

No, it doesn't take time, it takes effort. Time passes whether you do anything or not.

oh well, keeping the forum thread with a resigned "I wish" that Mubi could maybe make an iPad app... the months go by and nothing further is heard. So i have to persuade the children to give up the playstation since they profess no interest in alternative european cinema!
-
-
no iPad app, no MUBI. sorry :-/
so I havve to get the european alternative movies further via amazon. that's a pitty.
anyways, maybe in future. will think about subscribing then again.
Cheers -

i'm waiting for the app too. a subscription to me doesn't make any sense without it.

Mubi I just spent a lot of money on the retinal display iPad and the first thing I did was try mubi and I'm really shocked. You guys can't take our subscription money and be completely incompatible with a mainstream device. I love you guys and am not asking for a refund but you have to respond to ths thread and let us know what your plans are.

to add another voice here, i would love to subscribe, and would do so immediately, but I am waiting for the iPad app to do so.

I think the Mubi people are getting sick of us asking for this. I am sure they want to differentiate themselves by being the only streaming movie service that does not support the iPad. A sort of uncompetitive differentiator. A novel strategy!

People you can see Mubi films with Puffin Browser on your Ipad. I want a Mubi app but this is one solution for now.
-
-
Unfortunately I don't think Puffin browser will help if you are based outside the USA because the browser pre-processes page requests somewhere outside the UK at a server which means that mubi's software thinks that the subscriber is located outside the UK and refuse to play the film accompanied by an error message "We have detected your are not located in the UK..."
Therefore if you are in Europe and was hoping to use Puffin which is a very good browser anyway, I dont think it will work unless somebody has a work-around.
I assume it works via IP number - there is a three way route user to puffin server to mubi and back again. Puffin server speeds up the page load using their technology.
One easy solution is to move to Android I suppose unless the MUBI team have a solution?-
Yes but you will be able to watch MUBI US

Hello everyone.
We are not tired of you asking at all, and we are more than excited and looking forward to delivering this application to you :)
This is really getting closer than ever, and as we know that many of you have already been waiting for a long time we hard working day and night to give you the best app ever made to enjoy the best films!
I, once again, cannot give you any release date as we do not want to disappoint you if by any bad luck we had to postpone it a little further.
But be assured that it's close, it looks amazing and we are putting our hearts and muscles in this project to give you what you have been waiting for as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Quentin

I have verified that you can view MUBI films on iPad right now with the Photon browser (available in the App Store for under five dollars).
Photon (Flash Video Player & Private Web Browser for iPad) sets up a streaming flash session (with adjustable bandwidth settings) and it is a workaround until the official app is available. -
-
Photon does not work with Mubi if you are in the UK.
I am in the UK and it detects that I am outside the UK, prohibiting from watching content only intended for the UK.-
Ah! There is a button to deal with the location issue. Unfortunately it reduces bandwidth and image and sound become somewhat naff, but tolerable if you simply have to watch something and are not too concerned with quality.
-
-
Try to log on MUBI US: us.mubi.com with Photon. At least you'll have access to this catalog
